As some will remember, earlier this year, Capcom revealed that it would be bringing three classic Resident Evil games to the Nintendo Switch; an announcement that was met with some pushback. Not only do the Switch versions of Resident Evil 0, 1, and cost a whopping $30 (an odd price point, considering the games are well over a decade old), but the publisher chose to release these ports solely on the platform’s eShop, with no physical copies hitting store shelves.

Despite the pricing issues, the ports held up fairly well on Nintendo’s hardware, and it seems Capcom is looking to bring even more games to the platform. Later this year, both Resident Evil 5 and will be released digitally, rounding out the franchise’s presence on the Switch.

For those who aren’t too familiar with some of the later entries in the series, here’s a quick refresher. Resident Evil 5 follows the exploits of Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar, who are exploring a new bioweapon that has popped up in Africa. Resident Evil 6, meanwhile, in an effort to shake things up, features three separate campaigns, which weave in and out of each other while delivering an equal mix of slower-paced survival horror with more over-the-top action.

Unfortunately, Capcom hasn’t announced plans to bring either Resident Evilor to the Switch (the latter was released exclusively in Japan), so for now, fans will just have to turn to other platforms to round out their collection.
