Capcom announced today that Rachel (who you will best remember as the girl in Resident Evil: Revelations‘ main story line who is in desperate need of a hair tie, bra, and a replacement zipper) will join Hunk as a playable character in the console HD port’s expanded Raid Mode.
In addition to the new characters, Capcom announced that Resident Evil: Revelations will feature two brand new enemy types that will appear in Raid Mode once players have reached an undisclosed level; the Wall Blister and a infected version of Rachel.
Outside of the new Raid Mode content, Capcom has also detailed some features that will be unique to the Wii U version of the game. In addition to supporting Off TV play, Wii U players will also be able to use the GamePad to quickly access their map and switch weapons, or they can ditch the second screen and just use a Wii U pro controller.
The Resident Evil: Revelations port will also support the Wii U’s Miiverse with two social features. First, players can post a “dying message” on the Game Over screen that will then be displayed for other players. The second feature is being called “Creatures Voice”, which will allow players to write notes to their friends that will be put into the game as the “thoughts of enemies in Raid Mode”.
Capcom didn’t mention any limits on the messages, however, we are pretty sure that all of the best ideas running though your head for both Miiverse features will not make it through moderation.
Resident Evil: Revelations launches on May 21, 2012 in North America (May 24th across Europe) for everything but the Vita (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC) for $49.99. Digital versions of the game will also be released over XBLA, PSN and the Wii U eShop, however, Capcom has not yet set a date.
