It may only be mid-March, but it already feels like spring is upon us. The harsh, cold winter appears to be fading, and that not only means sunnier days, but also the impending start of the 2016 Major League Baseball season. To coincide with the start of baseball season. MLB Advanced Media announced today that R.B.I. Baseball 16 will launch globally on March 29.
The latest iteration of the reboot of the classic franchise, R.B.I. Baseball 16 looks to improve upon last year’s disappointing release. Improvements to this year’s edition include new fielding capabilities, such as wall catches and dives, reworked batting engine and the ability to alter line-ups mid-game. Considering the state of the franchise since returning, there’s really nowhere to go but up.
As mentioned before, for the first time ever, the R.B.I. Baseball franchise will be available as a digital download in several different countries. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owning gamers across Europe will soon have the chance to test their hand at MLB Advanced Media’s take on America’s pastime.
In addition to the digital release on March 29, R.B.I. Baseball 16 will also be receiving a physical edition at participating retailers. Specific retailers haven’t been announced, but the sports simulator will be available on store shelves across the United States and Canada beginning April 1.
