Quantum Break, the Xbox One’s biggest exclusive of the year (so far), is now available for everyone to enjoy some time-bending powers mixed with third-person combat and a tie-in TV series to complement it, and it seems that quite a few of you are enjoying the game – Microsoft has confirmed that the sci-fi shooter is Microsoft Studios’ biggest-selling new IP of the current console generation.
The likes of Ryse: Son Of Rome and Sunset Overdrive have been previous contenders for the crown, and while Microsoft has confirmed that the news is a result of a week one sales comparison – therefore, the announcement relies on the game meeting or exceeding sales projections – everyone seems to be happy with its performance and reception.
Xbox Studios’ senior category manager Jon Edney says that Microsoft and developer Remedy couldn’t be more delighted with the outcome:
We’re delighted that Quantum Break has been so well received by fans and critics, it’s a testament to the hard work, ambition and commitment of the team at Remedy that the game is already surpassing expectations. The game has already built up a passionate fanbase and we look forward to seeing and hearing about their experiences in Riverport.
Like the rest of the world, we think Quantum Break is an excellent, gorgeous-looking shooter that gives gamers just another reason to buy an Xbox One if they haven’t already. You can check out our review by clicking here.
