Batten down the hatches; Resident Evil 4 is about to scurry onto PS4 and Xbox One. In preparation for next week’s launch, Capcom has unleashed a pair of extended gameplay clips for the imminent remaster, touting overhauled graphics and refined UI.
Pegged to arrive on August 30, the eerie footage chronicles Leon Kennedy’s journey into an abandoned Spanish village where a deadly parasite has transformed the residents into rampaging lunatics. Running at a native 1080p and 60fps, it’s understood the re-release will come packing all bonus content for Resident Evil 4 including Ada Wong’s side story, New Game Plus and the Mercenaries Mode.
[zerggaming]Launching as the third RE remaster in as many months – following the releases of RE5 and RE6 on current-gen hardware earlier in the summer – Resident Evil 4 will be priced at $19.99/€19.99/£15.99 when it touches down on August 30. A physical disc version is set to be available for those in the Americas.
Beyond HD remasters, the future of the Resident Evil series lies with upcoming sequel/reboot Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. It’s championed as a return to the franchise’s putrid horror roots and will be made available on PS4, Xbox One and PC in January 24, 2017. Taking immersion one step further, it’ll also be playable from start to finish via Sony’s PSVR.
