With development on PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale having officially wrapped up last week, Superbot Entertainment has revealed that they are now working on future downloadable content for Sony’s fighter. The studio announced today that the first DLC offering will be Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk.
No official footage of either character was released alongside the announcement, however, Superbot did reveal a bit about the characters’ playstyles. Kat’s abilities can “turn gravity on its head”, which allows her to pull off a “unique brand of aerial assault” against her opponents. Emmett will be a more weapons-based fighter, and also has the ability to use Starhawk‘s “Build-in-Battle” system to call call down “help from the sky”.
Superbot stated in the announcement that both Kat and Emmett are expected to join PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale‘s roster “early next year”, and they will be available through the PlayStation Store as a free download for everyone for two full weeks. After that two week period we are assuming that Sony will offer them as a paid download, however, the announcement did not specifically address that situation.
This is the first time that we have heard about Emmett Graves joining PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, however, Kat’s status as a fighter was “rumored” back in September when a screenshot of her was leaked. She was later briefly spotted in a bio on the game’s official site, so it is not entirely surprising to find out that Kat will in fact be in the game.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale launches on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita on November 20, 2012 in North America. As a reminder, if you are planning to pick up All-Stars on both platforms make sure to buy the game on the PS3 because it comes with a free download code for the Vita version as part of the Cross-Buy promotion.
