These days, movie tie-in games are few and far between, surely due to the losses companies like THQ incurred by focusing so heavily upon them during earlier generations. They aren’t gone for good, though, as is further evidenced by today’s reveal of The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure.
Set for release this November, following the theatrical debut of Twentieth Century Fox’s Peanuts Movie, Snoopy’s Grand Adventure is a side-scrolling platformer that doubles as a large-scale game of hide-and-seek. In it, gamers will take control of the iconic dog, as he travels through fantastical worlds in search of Charlie Brown and his hiding friends. Doing so will require the use of various costumes, which represent Snoopy’s different egos, including the aerial Flying Ace.
Those who don’t like to play alone will be able to team up with a friend for local co-op, with the second player being put in charge of distracting enemies, clearing new paths and helping to find lost collectibles as Woodstock. It sounds more like a throw-in mechanic than anything else, but hopefully kids will enjoy it.
Peanuts fans can look forward to helping Snoopy win his exotic game of hide-and-seek on November 3rd, which is when The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure will be released for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U and 3DS. The game, which will tie-in with the similarly titled movie, will debut as part of Peanuts‘ 65th anniversary celebrations.
