Proving that not every weekly PlayStation Plus update can be a winner, Sony has announced that Plus subscribers will find that the Vita version of Plants vs. Zombies has been added to their Instant Game Collection when the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow evening.
On the surface this is a great deal, because Plants vs. Zombies is an awesome tower defense game that would normally cost you $10.49 on the Vita. In reality, there is a good chance that you already have several cheap versions it downloaded on some other game playing device, which makes this a bit of a let down.
Outside of Plants vs. Zombies, tomorrow’s PlayStation Plus update is going to be a dream come true for the tens of PlayStation Vita owners out there, as the following games will be heavily discounted for Plus members as part of the handheld’s Anniversary Sale:
- Escape Plan $7.34
- Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational $17.63
- Hustle Kings PS Vita $4.89
- Little Deviants $8.81
- MLB The Show 12 PS Vita $8.81
- ModNation Racers: Road Trip $9.79
- MotorStorm RC Complete Edition $5.87
- PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale $17.63
- Reality Fighters $8.81
- Smart As $13.22
- Sound Shapes $7.34
- Super Stardust Delta $4.89
- Unit 13 $13.22
Additionally, the PlayStation 3 game Retro/Grade and its soundtrack have been marked down by 30%. This makes the game a mere $2.44, and the soundtrack only $1.74.
Finally, the Gamers’ Choice Awards Winners will be revealed with tomorrow’s PlayStation Store update. These are the games that players started voting on last week, and they will all go on sale at “various discounts across the board”. Voting is still ongoing right now on the PlayStation Store, so make sure to hop over tonight and pick what you would like to see discounted.
Considering European Plus members got Sleeping Dogs this month and are lined up to get Mass Effect 3 in March, this is a pretty disappointing PlayStation Plus update — especially if you don’t happen to own a PS Vita. Guess this is just one of those weeks that makes Plus subscribers better appreciate the good updates.
