To commemorate PlayStation’s twentieth birthday, Electronic Arts is offering PSN-using gamers three free games. The promotion — which will last until tomorrow’s PlayStation Experience curtain call — includes the PlayStation Vita version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Mirror’s Edge for PlayStation 3 and the relatively new PlayStation 4 version of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, all of which are currently available for download at no cost whatsoever.
Electronic Arts’ Chief Operating Officer, Peter Moore, made the announcement during an on-stage appearance at the Vegas-based PSX event. And, though he didn’t make it clear, it seems as if the titles are free for everyone, not just PlayStation Plus subscribers. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is an online-only game, though, so you’ll want to keep that in mind if you intend to play it, as Plus is now required for online multiplayer on PS4.
This is a surprising offer, but an appreciated one nonetheless. After all, there was no need for EA to do this. Act fast, though, because the freebies won’t be that way for long!
