Following confirmation by Activision that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will feature a modern update of 10 classic multiplayer maps from the original game on release day, Forbes has reported that both Overgrown and Bog will join the previously announced Crossfire, Backlot and Crash, bringing the current total to five.
In case you need your memory jogged, Bog featured murky marshlands, rusted debris and a destroyed tank punctuating the middle of the map as its centrepiece, offering excellent sniping opportunities. Overgrown – a fan favorite – was set on farmland in the countryside that featured small cottages and a drought-ridden river running through the middle of it and bridges connecting the two sides.
Speaking to Forbes, Raven studio director David Pellas said that the quality of Overgrown is the bar in which they’ve set for every updated map.
So much love went into crafting Overgrown and making it just an amazing experience, amazing visuals, that we then used that as kind of our temperature gauge on the other maps that we were working on as our beautiful corner, our proof of concept of what we’re aspiring to get.
Activision confirmed the existence of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered over the weekend, following multiple leaks and rumors that let the cat out of the bag early. The updated classic will only be available to those who buy this year’s Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which releases November 4 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
