Speaking to Eurogamer after the game’s announcement earlier this month, Hideo Kojima revealed some interesting new information about Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Most notably was that the game’s world would feature a day and night cycle.
According to Kojima, players will see vast differences in the world depending on what time of day it is. Although he didn’t fully explain how the system will work, he did mention that things like enemy troop placement and patterns will change along with the time of day.
The other bit of information that Kojima revealed about Ground Zeroes won’t be nearly as well received by prospective players. It seems that the open world nature of the game will require loading screens as players move about the map.
Here’s hoping that the loading screens will only occur during natural breaks in the gameplay (like when Big Boss calls in a helicopter for transport) and not at times when you are right in the middle of the action.
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is scheduled to release for the Xbox 360 and PS3, although Konami has not yet announced a release window for the title. Once they do, we will report it here.
