Developer CI Games has provided fresh details on the mobile version of its acclaimed RPG Lords of the Fallen, which is due to arrive on iOS and Android in 2015.
Rather than releasing the title as a straight port, the studio announced that the mobile iteration will offer up a “brand new” experience for fans of the medieval game. In a statement, CEO Marek Tyminski touched upon the status of the iOS and Android versions:
“I can confirm that the statements made recently to the local Polish media at a press conference earlier this week in Warsaw, and mentioned on Facebook by Executive Producer Tomasz Gop, are true: a Lords of the Fallen sequel is currently in development for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The reaction from fans to the news has been tremendous so far, and we’re eager to take on the challenge of improving upon the solid experience that has been created with Lords of The Fallen.
“I’d also like to offer some new information – we’re currently working on a mobile game that takes place in the Lords of the Fallen universe, which we’re aiming to launch on iOS and Android in 2015. It will not be a straight port of the game though, but rather a brand new Lords of the Fallen experience. More details on that are still to come.”
As a brand, Lords of the Fallen appears to be going from strength to strength. Earlier this week, we learned that work on a direct sequel was already underway after the original accumulated some impressive sales numbers — close to 700,000 retails copies, in fact. Given that CI Games released LOTF on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC back in October, the foundations have already been laid on the current-gen systems for the developing team to iterate on and refine.
We’ll have much more about the mobile version and indeed sequel for Lords of the FallenĀ in the future. For now, however, you can share what you’d like to see from the planned follow-up in the comments section below.
