Over the past weekend, dozens of private documents for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt leaked out online. The files were taken from a CD Projekt Red employee’s Google Drive and then posted to 4Chan and Reddit.
CD Projekt Red marketing boss Michal Platkow-Gilewski confirmed the leak and offered a warning for those trying to seek it out.
“It has come to our attention that some of the production files for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have emerged on the internet. A portion of the files contains information about the story of the game so we strongly advise against accessing them, as this may heavily impact and spoil your future gaming experience. We also like to reassure everyone that the disclosure of said documents does not affect the development cycle in any way.”
Obviously, the big information contained in the leaked documents are the plot details and the multiple endings of the game. Included with the information on The Witcher 3‘s ending is also a final list of outcomes that varies based on what choices Geralt has made throughout the course of the game.
Additional information on the title leaked from the documents include details on all the monsters, various files filled with production art, mission descriptions and even details regarding the game’s E3 2014 demo:
“We start with a cut-scene with the camera descending down on the Baron’s castle, showing off the lovely open world surrounding it. The camera tracks in on the window of the cottage where we talk to Keira Metz. Cue dialogue. We talk to Keira Metz and she gives us a task: remove the curse from the tower in the swamps. (Boob physics eye candy, appropriately prepared dialogue).”
Oh those CD Projekt Red guys, what a bunch of scamps!
Despite the fact that there is a ton of information included here and a file that indicates that The Witcher 3 may have been in a playable state as early as February 2014, there are still numerous tasks left to be completed for the title. Final music and dialogue still has to be recorded, and one document hints at the fact that the game may potentially be receiving SmartGlass and Kinect support on the Xbox One.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently scheduled for release on February 24, 2015 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Tell us, have you seen the leaked documents? If so, what do you think of the information that they reveal? Sound off below!
