On the eve of release, developer Telltale Games has premiered the launch trailer for The Walking Dead: Michonne – In Too Deep, the first episode in the studio’s three-part miniseries that is due to drop tomorrow, February 23.
With her trusty katana in one hand and a badass attitude in the other, Telltale’s episodic series finds Michonne – voiced by Samira Wiley – separated from Rick and the rest of the gang. After waking up aboard “The Companion,’ a rickety boat captained by a mysterious man called Pete, the miniseries will have you discovering why Michonne parted ways with Rick, Carl and her other friends and survivors in the first place between issues #126 and #139 of Robert Kirkman’s comic book.
Meanwhile, Telltale’s official description describes In Too Deep as so:
‘The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries’ stars the iconic, blade-wielding character from Robert Kirkman’s best-selling comic books, portrayed in-game by award-winning actress Samira Wiley (Orange is the New Black). Haunted by her past, and coping with unimaginable loss and regret, the story explores Michonne across a three episode miniseries event. Players will dive into the mind of Michonne to discover what took her away from Rick, Carl, and the rest of her trusted group… and what brought her back.
Shortly after its release, The Walking Dead: Michonne will launch the remaining two episodes – entitled Give No Shelter and What We Deserve – across March and April, respectively. All installments can be purchased together for $14.99, with the premiere due to arrive tomorrow for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Mac and supported mobile devices.
