Arkane Studios is ramping up its video output for Dishonored 2 ahead of the game’s release next month, this time giving fans a breakdown of the different methods Corvo and Emily employ to make a daring escape from whatever sticky situation they’ve found themselves in.
Featuring a segment of the Royal Conservatory level where either protagonist must escape the clutches of its resident witches, the sequence is repeated in an almost parallel fashion with both characters to highlight their vastly different approaches to stealth and eluding capture.
First up is Emily, who employs far darker abilities than Corvo to get the job done. Able to take on a shadow form to bypass or savagely murder guards is just the start. Other tricks include Domino, which tethers several enemies together and synchronizes their fate. For example, tethering three enemies then shooting one in the face will cause all three to suffer the same fate.
Corvo, on the other hand, retains much the same repertoire of skills as he had in the original game, but with a few tweaks. Blink is now able to slow down time whenever it’s triggered, allowing for more precise timing and setup of chained take downs. Likewise, Corvo can now use Possession to jump from one target to the other, craftily bypassing electrified gates and other hazards.
There certainly seems to be no shortage of different approaches the player can take in each of Dishonored 2‘s missions, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it come November 11, when it launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
