Koei Tecmo – likely most well-known for creating the Ninja Gaiden series – has confirmed the full line-up of games they’ll be showcasing at this year’s E3 in June, including Nioh, an Attack On Titan game based on the popular anime series and, interestingly, an unannounced top-secret title currently in development at internal studio Omega Force.
The press release announcement reads (via Gematsu) as follows:
With an original IP from an extensive, all-star development team, and a Titan-sized action game based on the acclaimed anime, Koei Tecmo Games is proud to demonstrate our continued commitment to bringing top notch gaming experiences to our fans. We can’t wait for attendees to get their hands on two of this year’s biggest action titles, and we look forward to their reaction when we unveil an upcoming project that we’re incredibly excited to be working on.
Attack On Titan is due to launch this August for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, PS Vita and PlayStation 3, and Koei Tecmo describes it as “an epic action game based on the hugely successful anime, Attack on Titan incorporates the claustrophobic atmosphere and iconic, fast-paced battle action of one of the most celebrated new anime IPs of the last few years.”
Nioh, which is often affectionately referred to as ‘Samurai Souls’ due to its similarities with From Software’s Dark Souls series, is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and just recently had a time-limited Alpha Demo on the PlayStation Store. Following a fictionalized portrayal of explorer William Adams, Nioh is described as a “dark, fantasy action RPG” and is currently on-track to release this year.
E3 2016 runs from June 14-16 and will, as always, feature the latest game announcements, trailers and reveals over the three-day period.
