Throughout his career on HBO’s fantasy flagship Game of Thrones, Kit Harington has been known to wage war on House Bolton as Jon Snow – one of the few heroes still standing in the network’s political cauldron. With Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the actor is switching gears and making his first foray into full-on villain territory, and we now have our first look at Harington in action as the malevolent, power-mongering Admiral Salen Kotch – as if that name wasn’t evil enough, there’s even a facial scar lumped in for good measure.
Waging intergalactic war on the United Nations Space Alliance – a beacon of peace within Infinity Ward’s far-future setting – Harington’s big bad spearheads the Settlement Defense Front, who can be seen executing a Pearl Harbor-esque stealth attack on the unsuspecting masses on Earth, along with the UNSA’s Moon outpost.
You play as Captain Nick Reyes, a Special Operations pilot tasked with pushing back against Salen’s scorched Earth approach. Left facing seemingly insurmountable odds, our ragtag crew of survivors can even be seen hoisting the black flag – military speak for turning to barbaric, pirate-like strategies – while there’s even a glimpse of UFC champ Conor McGregor playing the small part of Captain Bradley Fillion.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare deploys onto PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 4. It’ll support Sony’s high-end PS4 Pro console right out of the box, while those out for a dose of nostalgia should note that Special Editions of the space shooter will bundle Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, a revamped version of what is arguably Infinity Ward’s greatest entry into the franchise.
