1C Company will release a new tower defence game Infinium Strike for PC in July, with PS4 and Xbox One versions due to follow before the end of 2016. The Kickstarter-funded title will blend action and strategy elements into a tried and tested formula and is developed by former members of Ubisoft.
Infinium Strike is set hundreds of years in the future where humans are on the brink of extinction after decades of intergalactic colonisation. The Wrog, a race of sentient alien ships, will stop at nothing until mankind is eradicated. All hope appeared lost until the discovery of a liquid metal known as Infinium.
Harnessing the power of Infinium, humanity has built Freedom Strike, the strongest battlecarrier in the universe. As chief weapons officer of the Freedom Strike, it is up to the player to maintain the spaceship’s defences as the Wrog attack from four sides.
Infinium Strike offers two game modes. In the campaign, players will advance through ten missions in their quest to defeat the Wrog. Deep Space, meanwhile, serves as an endless arcade mode in which players test their skills against endless waves of Wrog. Each player receives the same enemy attack patterns in Deep Space, allowing gamers to battle it out among friends for the top spot on the leaderboards.
With the PC release set for July 14, Infinium Strike is then expected to be available for PS4 and Xbox One players in autumn. In the meantime, you can download a PC demo over at the official Steam page.
