Now that PlayStation 4 owners have had the chance to get their hands on Sucker Punch’s latest, inFAMOUS: Second Son, the developer has gotten to work on the game’s first downloadable update patch, which, in addition to addressing numerous bugs, will include some new options and features for Delsin Rowe’s superpowered open-world adventure.
One nifty addition will be a new entry in the options menu to select the time of day in the in-game Seattle environment. While this option will only be available after you beat the main campaign, it will definitely be helpful for those who want to do all of the side activities that they still have left over.
There will also be an added option to turn the in-game HUD elements off, both for those who prefer a more cinematic experience and to help anyone out who wants to make use of the PS4’s in-game screenshot capture function. Finally, there will be an option to cap the framerate at 30 FPS at all times, which will help those who find the game’s recurring bumps in FPS distracting.
The PlayStation Blog post that announced all this also hinted at the possibility of more features being incorporated if the team finds the inspiration, but it doesn’t specify what these could be. Of course, as with most patches, the update will also resolve in-game bugs found by the coders and QA team. There’s no specific date set yet for the patch, though the blog post says the earliest possibility would be about two weeks from now.
We will keep you updated on more news regarding inFAMOUS: Second Son as it develops.
