inFAMOUS Second Son is getting both a Limited and Collector’s edition, which really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone. Almost every high profile game nowadays receives multiple versions and despite the fact that most of the extras that are included in a “special” edition are usually worthless, publishers keep opting for them.
So, what kind of bonuses can we expect this time? Well, the Limited Edition, which will only be available at launch, comes with the Cole’s Legacy DLC and will feature a “unique foil cover.” Considering that this version will only go for $59.99, that’s actually not a bad deal at all. Just make sure to put in your pre-order or it may be tough to find a copy.
It’s also important to note that Cole’s Legacy DLC, which “uncovers what happened between the devastating events of Infamous 2 and inFAMOUS Second Son,” will only be available on the game disc, you CAN NOT download it at a later date.
As for the Collector’s Edition, it will run you a steep $79.99 and while you’ll receive the same DLC as the Limited Edition, you’ll also get a few other goodies, including a beanie, some pins, a patch and a whole other host of absolutely useless junk.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m usually not a fan of this type of stuff but I see no reason not to check out the Limited Edition. $59.99 is a fair price, especially for the exclusive DLC. If you plan on picking up the game, you might as well go this route.
