The latest trailer for Dishonored 2 has arrived, this time exploring the many different features present in the stealth title that aim to provide a different experience with each playthrough.
Developer Arkane Studios has already talked extensively about the dual protagonist system that allows players to experience Dishonored 2 through the eyes of either Corvo or Emily, but that’s not the only variable. Far from it. While character choice will certainly have a huge impact on how players navigate the coastal city of Karnaca and its many nuances, it’s the game’s story missions that will add an extra layer of complexity to proceedings.
As is the case with Dishonored 2‘s ‘Clockwork Mansion‘ stage, each one of Corvo or Emily’s escapades will feature a central theme that completely turns pre-established notions of what is and isn’t possible upside down. Moving walls and disappearing floors are just the tip of the iceberg.
One mission in particular, which you can see above, will grant access to a special ‘timepiece’ that allows players to jump between the past and present on a whim. Set in a derelict building where once a grand palace stood, you’ll need to manipulate your surroundings in order to progress. What’s missing in the present may exist in the past.
Dishonored 2 launches November 11 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and if the above is anything to go by, we can’t wait to see what other tricks Arkane has in store for us.
