As part of the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode, 2K Games has announced a series of matches featuring the legendary Hulk Hogan for inclusion in the upcoming WWE 2K14.
Covering the first nine WrestleManias, the “Hulkamania Runs Wild” match list includes:
- WrestleMania 1: Andre The Giant vs. Big John Studd
- WrestleMania 2: Hulk Hogan vs. King Kong Bundy
- WrestleMania 3: Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth)
- WrestleMania 3: Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant (with Bobby Heenan)
- WrestleMania 4: Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth and Hulk Hogan) vs. Ted DiBiase (with Andre The Giant)
- WrestleMania 5: Randy Savage vs. Hulk Hogan
- WrestleMania 6: The Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan
- WrestleMania 7: Sgt. Slaughter vs. Hulk Hogan
- WrestleMania 8: Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) vs. Ric Flair (with Mr. Perfect)
- WrestleMania 9: Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna (with Mr. Fuji)
- WrestleMania 9: Hulk Hogan vs. Yokozuna (with Mr. Fuji)
Although not every match features the Hulkster, he is certainly a major presence here. Also, while you may not be able to recreate any of the crazy, rambling interviews he had with Mean Gene Okerlund, you can at least look forward to delivering big boots and atomic leg drops to all of Hogan’s classic foes.
As a fan of old-school wrestling, the majority of the matches that will be included in the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode have me excited. Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage is one of the best wrestling bouts of all time, and the spectacle of Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant still gets me excited even today. While not everything here is a classic (I’m looking at you WrestleMania 9), it’s hard to deny that playing as these legends of the squared circle doesn’t entice me.
2K Games will be revealing more matches included in the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode throughout the week. Wrestlers set to be included in the mode include Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. Hulk Hogan will also pop up once again, this time in his “Hollywood” persona though.
WWE 2K14 will launch on October 29th for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Are you excited to play as Hulk Hogan, brother? Let all the Hulkamaniacs in attendance know in the comments below!
