While Bandai Namco had confirmed previously that Dragon Ball Super character Goku Black would be appearing in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, we’ve had to wait until now to see him in action. Coinciding with the gameplay trailer (above), the publisher also confirmed that all pre-order copies of the beat ’em up will come with a code to download Goku’s mysterious doppelgänger on release day.
Introduced as the main antagonist of the new Dragon Ball Super anime series, Goku Black may look identical to his popular counterpart, but the similarities end there – the dude’s as evil as they come.
In addition to the above details, Bandai Namco confirmed yesterday via their Twitter page that the first DLC pack for Xenoverse 2 will include the likes of Frost and Kyabe. The former is an alternate dimension version of iconic series villain Frieza while the latter is a Saiyan from Universe 6.
ANNOUNCEMENT! Frost & Kyabe will both be part of the first DLC pack for Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2. Stay tuned here for more info! #Xenoverse2 pic.twitter.com/Oe5hGWVgAR

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 25 in North America and October 28 worldwide. A raft of special editions for the cel-shaded title, including a collector’s edition featuring a swanky ‘Son Goku Master Stars’ statue were announced previously, although we imagine finding a copy of one now might prove to be quite difficult.
