We knew it was on the way, but Coffee Stain Studios has officially announced that Goat Simulator will be coming to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 in April. The port specialists at Double Eleven (PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate) will be handling development duties.
As the title implies, Goat Simulator has gamers exploring an open-world as a goat. There’s not much in the way of actual goals for a goat to accomplish, so for a majority of the time players will just be wreaking havoc. Luckily, there are plenty of things for everyone’s favorite animal to bash and lick.
While originally beginning as a joke, Goat Simulator has gone on to be a rather unexpected success for Coffee Stain Studios. Since its April 2014 release, the title has seen sales of over 2.5 million copies across PC, Android, and iOS.
Personally, I’ve never been able to fully comprehend the popularity of Coffee Stain Studios’ open-world effort. Sure, playing as a goat looks hilarious, and who doesn’t like destroying things by throwing your body at them? But there doesn’t really appear to be that much of a game underneath all of the zaniness. Honestly, I would need to see a price before I decide whether or not this one is worth picking up.
