Following on from its debut last week at the top of the UK games chart, Ubisoft’s tactical open world shooter, Ghost Recon: Wildlands has held onto its position for the second week running. The biggest week one launch of the year so far, Wildlands is second only to The Division as Ubisoft’s most successful game launch in the same period and, assuming it manages to stay there for an additional week, will achieve what one of 2017’s other big multi-platform releases – Resident Evil 7 – didn’t quite manage to do earlier this year.
As for the rest of this week’s top 10 entries, not much has changed. LEGO Worlds climbs one spot to second, pushing PlayStation 4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn down to third place, while Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V maintains its never-ending presence in the charts by taking no.4 from Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, itself dropping to sixth. Perhaps the most noteworthy change is NieR: Automata, which has dropped out of the top 10 entirely and now sits at no.14. Not a great second week for Platinum Games then, but the drop certainly isn’t a reflection of Automata‘s quality – it received top marks in our review.
Rocket League, Infinite Warfare and FIFA 17 all maintain their presence in the top 10, albeit with their positions having shuffled to varying degrees. Check out the full list below.
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
- LEGO Worlds
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- GTA V
- FIFA 17
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Rocket League
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- Minecraft: Xbox One Edition
- Forza Horizon 3
With the imminent arrival of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Ghost Recon: Wildlands certainly faces some stiff competition for no.1 next week, although it remains to be seen if criticisms surrounding certain elements of BioWare’s spacefaring RPG have any effect on its sales. We’ll find out next week.
