In tandem with the review embargo lifting earlier today, Playground Games and developer Turn 10 Studios have now lifted the tarpaulin on the blistering Forza Horizon 3 launch trailer.
Taking point on the famous Horizon Festival, Microsoft’s imminent racing sequel invites players Down Under to enjoy the sun-kissed open road of Australia, with today’s high-octane snippet showcasing such iconic locations as the country’s wild Outback and the shimmering skyscrapers littering the famous Gold Coast.
Impressive visuals aside, both studios have spent much of the game’s marketing campaign drumming up the sheer volume of cars at your disposal, with Forza Horizon 3 set to feature upwards of 350 iconic automobiles. That’s likely more cars than you’ll ever need, but petrolheads can at least take solace in knowing that their favorite ride will almost certainly be featured. Besides, Tom Swoon, Belle Humble & DANK’s song “We Rise” makes for a fitting soundtrack to the on-screen action, and is potentially a tease of the racer’s full soundtrack.
Circling back to that review embargo lifting, our own verdict ruled that Forza Horizon 3 “doesn’t bring much new to the table, and it feels like we’ve now played the same game three times over. It’s still good, and fun for newcomers, but it’s definitely at the point of diminishing returns. Throw in a myriad of technical issues, and it’s ultimately a disappointing sequel.”
Those who pick up the Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition will be able to get behind the wheel ahead of schedule via early access on September 23, before Turn 10’s racing sequel launches for all on September 27.
