Free-to-play MMO Neverwinter – which is based on the Dungeons and Dragons brand – is coming to PlayStation 4 on July 19, developer Perfect World Entertainment has announced via Sony’s PlayStation Blog. In addition to the base game, players will get full access to all nine expansions released for the massively multiplayer title since it launched in 2013 for PC, as well as an upcoming tenth – Storm King’s Thunder.
If you’re eager to get stuck in as fast as possible though, Perfect World are offering a special $19.99 Head Start pack, which will “get you into Neverwinter a week early on July 12.” The studio’s communications manager Alex Monney says:
For those that want to get in a little earlier than July 19, we will be offering a Head Start pack that will get you into Neverwinter a week early on July 12 for $19.99. The pack will also come with additional in-game items including an Onyx weapon pack, a 20-pack of enchanted keys, a special Onyx Horse mount, and more!
After launch on July 19, Neverwinter will continue to grow with in-game events and upcoming expansions. We have already announced our tenth expansion called Storm King’s Thunder that will have players investigate the sudden return of the Giants to the Forgotten Realms.
Eight playable classes will be available on release day, says the post, all of which will have “varying paths” as you travel “across the Forgotten Realms to locations such as the frozen peaks of Icewind Dale, the sunless Underdark, and the radiant forests of Sharandar.”
