Staying true to its promise that DLC news was right around the corner, Bethesda has today detailed the initial wave of expansions headed to Fallout 4, all the while confirming that the set price for the game’s season pass will increase from $29.99 to $49.99 (£24.99 to £39.99 GBP; $49.95 to $79.95 AUD) effective March 1.
Taking to its official blog, the first set of add-on content will comprise Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor. They can be picked up individually, and are on course to release in March, April and May, respectively.
First up, Automatron has you explore the irradiated plains of the Commonwealth in search of a mysterious Mechanist, after unleashing a horde of evil robots. Your task, then, is to “hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions.”
[zerggaming]Wasteland Workshop, meanwhile, is the cheapest offering of the bunch at $4.99. It’ll involve capturing and taming those marauding Deathclaws, before unleashing them to “face off in battle [and] even against your fellow settlers.” Finally, Far Harbor is the meatiest add-on of the pack, revolving around a new case that has come to light through Valentine’s Detective Agency.
Once you accept, the DLC “leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world.”
As for the aforementioned price hike, Bethesda noted that those who have already purchased the season pass will be entitled to get Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor for $29.99. Considering that the change will take into effect on March 1, the studio has opened up a two-week window for users to pick up the premium package.
Per Bethesda:
Given the expanded DLC plan, the price of the season pass will increase from the current $29.99 to $49.99 USD (£24.99 to £39.99 GBP; $49.95 to $79.95 AUD) on March 1, 2016. However, if you already purchased the season pass for $29.99, nothing changes – you still get everything at no additional cost— the full $60 offering of add-on content for the original price of $29.99. In addition, if you didn’t buy the season pass yet, there is still time: anyone who buys the Season Pass for $29.99 before March 1st will get all $60 worth of content.
Fallout 4 will receive its first DLC add-on come March with Automatron. Soon thereafter, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor will make their debut. Those who wish to test the content out before release can sign up for beta tests via the studio’s official site.
