A new trailer for Final Fantasy XIV‘s upcoming expansion Stormblood has been released, taking players on a tour of its Eastern-themed regions. Upon its original announcement at last year’s Fan Festival in Las Vegas, game director Naoki Yoshida revealed that players will be visiting two separate provinces in the add-on – Ala Mhigo and Doma – both of which are on show in this latest gameplay video.
As was the case with previous expansion Heavensward, new content will be spread across several distinct environments in Stormblood, ranging from the scorching deserts of Rhalgr’s Reach to the ornate and traditional Japanese stylings of the Kugane district. Other notable areas include The idyllic Ruby Sea, which boasts a massive body of water punctuated with small islands, and Yanxia, a rocky landscape filled with towering stone pillars and heavy mists. Take the sweeping tour for yourselves in the video above.
Besides the new frontiers to explore, Stormblood, like its predecessor, will raise the level cap and introduce new Jobs (classes) into the mix: Red Mage and Samurai. Seasoned with a sizeable number of new dungeons, an alliance raid set in Final Fantasy XII‘s Ivalice and battle system reworks, Square’s latest efforts for its flagship MMO are certainly shaping up to be its greatest yet.
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is out June 20 for PlayStation 4 and PC, although those that pre-order, either the standard or lavish Collector’s Edition, will have a headstart as part of early access, which kicks off June 16.
