If you’ve been dying to actually finish the gaping plot from Final Fantasy XIII-2, now’s your chance. Square Enix quietly released what they’re calling the last of the DLC for the game yesterday. And it’s a bit of a doozy.
Aside from a series of costumes allowing customization of Mog, and white and black mage costumes for Noel and Serah, a new episode entitled “Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield” has absolutely nothing to do with EA‘s online military shooter, but instead allows players to battle Snow in order to unlock him for use in the game as a party member.
But the arguably more interesting release is “Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess.” This episode plays out the battle between Lightning and Caius while Serah and Noel were busy playing Marty McFly. It’ll also allow players to unlock this version of Lightning for use in the game, rather than the boring, non-divine one released in the other DLC a few months ago.
All of these are available now, and range in price from $2.99-$4.99.
I have to say, I’m impressed with how Square has handled DLC for Final Fantasy. Given that they’ve never really had any major DLC support for any game, it’s a good thing to see a big sense of variety in what’s been released. Thumbs up, Square!
