Ubisoft’s latest Far Cry 3 trailer details everything you have ever wanted to know about the upcoming game’s multiplayer mode but were afraid to ask.
The publisher claims that the game’s multiplayer was designed to take the experience to “insane and deadly extremes” across a “wide range of diverse and exotic maps”. Judging from the trailer they certainly seem to have made good on most of those promises. I mean, there is only so much diversity that you can squeeze out of a set of maps based on the same group of tropical islands.
All joking aside, Ubisoft seems to have outdone themselves with Far Cry 3‘s multiplayer and its emphasis on team play and new features like battle cries, team support weapons, and gameplay modes like Firestorm. It all looks incredibly well done, and not to mention drop dead beautiful.
The only real question here is if Ubisoft has given Far Cry 3 sufficient space between the launch of Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Microsoft and Activision’s shooters are multiplayer powerhouses that will undoubtedly monopolize a great deal of online play for many months to come. Hopefully Ubisoft’s release schedule has not doomed their shooter’s online servers to ghost town status.
Far Cry 3 launches on December 4th in North America and November 29th across Europe for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Check out the game’s new multiplayer trailer below.
