One month out from release, Sony and Naughty Dog have premiered an extended gameplay clip for action-adventure sequel Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, this time shipping Nate and Co. off to the glistening plains of Madagascar.
Clocking in at 16 minutes in length, today’s snippet is perhaps our best look at A Thief’s End to date, after Naughty Dog’s PS4 exclusive recently went gold following two delays. Taken from chapter 10 of the single-player campaign, it involves Nathan Drake, Sam and the cigar-chomping Sully as they plot course for a dormant volcano, risking it all for another elusive treasure hidden somewhere in the African highlands.
Fans of Naughty Dog’s work, and The Last of Us in particular, have come accustomed to the studio’s deft and downright surreal character animations, though this extended trailer for Uncharted 4 ups the ante in spectacular fashion. Nathan Drake, for all his battle scars and swashbuckling adventures, has never looked better, while the sheer size and scope of the environments make for a set-up that the studio has described as “wide linear” in the sense that players ought to experience free-flowing navigation without bumping into too many invisible walls.
Two delays later, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is finally poised to grace PlayStation 4 on May 10. In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on a series of action shots pulled from the extended gameplay clip via the gallery below.
