As promised, Namco Bandai has re-released a downloadable “Premium Edition” of Ninja Theory’s 2010 action adventure game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West on the PlayStation Store today, giving the tragically ignored title a second chance to find an audience.
Namco Bandai failed to provide any information about Enslaved: Odyssey to the West – Premium Edition in the run-up to the game’s PSN launch, so its sudden appearance on the PlayStation Store today marks the first time that we have solid details about the digital re-release. According to the PlayStation Blog description, the new version sells for $19.99 and consists of “the original critically-acclaimed game, and additional DLC content “Pigsy’s Perfect 10” as well as character enhancement skins Ninja Monkey, Classic Monkey and Sexy Trip.”
Basically, if you have already played Enslaved there is absolutely nothing new in the Premium Edition to justify a double dip. However, if you missed out on this little gem the first time around do not hesitate to correct that mistake today.
The extra downloadable content is nothing to write home about, but Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is easily one of my favorite games of this generation. If you love a good story-driven adventure, I highly recommend picking up the Premium Edition.
