With Dishonored 2 a little under two months away now, Arkane Studios has unleashed a new trailer for the upcoming game, which is currently set to bow on November 11 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
Taking place fifteen years after the events of the original, Dishonored 2 begins with Dunwall on the up and up. Under the reign of Empress Emily Kaldwin, the city has managed to recover from its troubled past. However, after Emily is removed from power by an otherworldly entity, she and her former bodyguard, Corvo Attano, must work together in order to regain the throne.
While Arkane tried to steer players toward the non-violent approach in their previous effort, Dishonored 2 gives you even more ways of taking out foes. This new trailer, instead of focusing on the story of Emily and Corvo, shows us how the two can use their unique abilities to get out of trouble. Suffice to say, things will get pretty bloody if you walk the path of violence.
[zergpaid]Over the course of the clip, we see Emily and Corvo unleash a variety of new attacks. Some of these include Domino, which forces linked targets to all suffer the same fate, and Bend Time, which lets you stop time. While all of them are powerful alone, the real fun comes from linking them all together. I’m sure players will figure out unique ways to chain together abilities such as Doppleganger and Springrazor, a trap that spews shrapnel when engaged.
As a fan of the original, I’m excited to get my hands on Dishonored 2 come November. These new abilities look great, but if there’s one thing that I’m concerned about, it’s that they all look a little too powerful. Corvo had plenty of skills in the first game, but I don’t remember any of them looking as devastating as the one’s here do. Here’s hoping that these abilities don’t make Dishonored 2 too unbalanced.
