Those players who already own a copy of The Elder Scrolls Online on either PC or Mac may be eligible to a deal that will allow them to pre-purchase the forthcoming console version of the MMO and transfer their account across, according to Bethesda.
First picked up by Eurogamer, the special offer states that this one-time deal will only be available for a period of 30 days. Priced at £12.99 ($19.99, approximately), the deal appears to be the one and only way players will be able to transfer their native account from PC and Mac into the console space, so be sure to take advantage of the promotion before it expires.
Here’s the skinny from publisher:
“This special offer to pre-purchase a digital copy of an Xbox One and/or PlayStation 4 version of the game will only be available on the store for 30 (thirty) days. After the 30-day period, you will no longer be able to purchase this special digital copy of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited for console or copy your PC/Mac account to console in any other way.”
Given that the console release is slated for June, it’s likely to be the case that, should you opt-in for this migration deal, the transfer won’t take into effect until further down the line. As for that aforementioned, rather nebulous eligibility clause, Bethesda remained vague on the specifics, though it seems safe to assume that anyone who already owns the game will be entitled to this promotion.
Bethesda will debut The Elder Scrolls Online – under the new moniker Tamriel Unlimited, no less – onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 9.
