The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim‘s menial Hearthfire downloadable content was released for the PC today. Which means that for $5 PC gamers can add the ability to build a house and fill it with their very own orphans!
For those keeping track, both Dawnguard and Hearthfire have now been released for the Xbox 360 and PC. Meanwhile, PlayStation 3 Skyrim players have been enjoying the original game, and… Well, that’s it.
Bethesda VP of marketing PR Pete Hines commented on the missing PS3 DLC – which is apparently so complicated that Sony has been called in to help get it running – on his Twitter account, saying:
“I don’t have any info on Hearthfire, Dawnguard, or DLC in general for PS3. We’re still on it. Will share update when I have one.”
Considering the initial state that Skyrim was in when it launched on the PlayStation 3, I’m doubtful that Bethesda will be able to get any of the game’s DLC running on Sony’s console anytime soon. If that changes, we will be sure to let you know.
