Eidos Montreal’s Deus Ex: Mankind Divided finally releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC tomorrow, much to the relief of fans. Indeed, the sequel to 2011’s Human Revolution has been a long time coming, but it doesn’t appear to have quite lived up to expectations.
It was never going to be an easy task, living up to its critically-acclaimed predecessor, and while Mankind Divided is very much a solid and enjoyable follow-up to Human Revolution, the cyberpunk sequel certainly has its flaws, as noted in our review. One of the chief concerns with the overall experience was its shorter-than-expected running time, a flaw that can, more often that not, be somewhat rectified with DLC.
Thanks to UK retailer GAME, we now know what the contents of the sci-fi shooter’s season pass will be, but they won’t exactly blow you away.
See below for the details:
- Two new story missions: “System Rift” and “A Criminal Past”
- The “Assault” and “Tactical” packs, which include various weapons and items
- 4 Praxis Kits
- 5000 Credits
- 5 “Booster Packs” and 20 “Chipsets” for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach
Besides the two new story missions ‘System Rift’ and ‘A Criminal Past,’ there’s not really anything here that adds meaningful content to the core experience. In fact, most of the contents are items you’d usually find put up for sale as micro-transactions rather than included in a season pass as DLC.
GAME has the pass priced at £24.99 (approx. $32), which is a high asking price, considering what’s included. Ultimately, the value hinges on how meaty the two story missions are – let’s hope they’re sizeable additions.
