BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO has a new update on the way as part of its new episodic story content, but there’s some strict requirements to experience all the new Force-centric events. Anarchy In Paradise is the latest in the game’s segmented ‘Knights Of The Fallen Empire’ expansion, which adds new chapters in The Old Republic’s story over several updates. However, if you’re not level 60 or have an active subscription to the game, you won’t be able to access it.
BioWare says Anarchy In Paradise follows new ally Firebrand, whose mission it is to, “destroy the Eternal Empire by attacking Zakuul and crushing the seat of power, the Eternal Throne, by any means necessary. It will be up to the Outlander to decide just how far he or she is willing to go to beat the Eternal Emperor. Players will experience the grim consequences of their past decisions and feel the grip of the hand of fate on their dangerous journey.”
That’s not all, though. BioWare are holding a new campaign to try and drive subscriber numbers up and pull in some fresh new faces. If you log in and subscribe between now and January 11, you’ll get the following:
-
Players who are Subscribers on January 11, 2016 will receive HK-55 as a permanent personal Companion.
-
Those who are Subscribers on the first of each month, from February through August 2016, will receive an in-game reward item themed to HK-55’s gear and weapons along with two-day Early Access to the chapter releasing that month.
-
Subscribers as of February 1, 2016 will receive the HK-55-inspired Jetpack Mount, built to withstand the harshest of conditions as players hover their way through the galaxy.
-
Players who stay subscribed through the period of January 11 to August 1, 2016 will be invited to play a bonus chapter in which they can play as HK-55!
Star Wars: The Old Republic has been out for quite a while now, and has suffered from a few problems since launch, including a lack of content and low subscriber numbers. However, continued updates and a shift to a free-to-play model has helped it move into a stronger position. If you’re in the mood for more Star Wars action after The Force Awakens, then this is the game for you.
