The wait is almost over, Guardians. Come September 20, Destiny‘s Rise of Iron expansion will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players across the globe, bringing with it more new armor sets, weapons and multiplayer improvements than you can shake a stick at.
To whet your appetite for all of the new content headed your way, Bungie’s released a new ViDoc (above) at Gamescom that shows a few additional snippets of the add-on’s new raid, Wrath of the Machine, as well as providing details for all of the changes being made to the open world shooter’s competitive Crucible mode.
Confirming previous whispers making the rounds, a Custom Match feature will in fact be introduced with Rise of Iron, enabling players to set up their own private matches and choose their own rules. Light level can be disabled here too, ensuring that all players are on an even playing field when the mayhem begins.
Likewise, existing modes are being joined by Supremacy, which is best compared to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2‘s Kill Confirmed playlist, in which players must pick up ‘Crests’ from fallen enemies to consolidate their kill and add points to their team’s total.
Everything shown for Rise of Iron so far certainly looks promising, and it could just offer enough content to tide fans over until Destiny 2 launches next year. We’ll have to wait for a final verdict in September to know for sure.
