6 Tips To Help You Get A Head Start In Destiny 2

After three excruciating years of patient waiting, Guardians the world over finally have a brand new adventure awaiting them in the form of Destiny 2. For both Bungie and its community, the road to realizing that eventuality has been a long - and often times bumpy - one fraught with delays, stopgaps and promises of a bigger, better and more cohesive universe to explore.

2) Partake In Public Events

Given the bountiful amount of new content Bungie’s created for Destiny 2‘s patrol areas, it’s all too easy to get sidetracked as you hop between planets in order to stop Dominus Ghaul’s crusade against humanity, which is, in itself, both a blessing and a curse. The original Destiny‘s sandbox gameplay was – Court of Oryx and Archon’s Forge excluded – rather dull, and received a great deal of criticism because of it. Bungie made the wise decision to spruce them up for Destiny 2, and from what I’ve experienced so far, Nessus, Io and Titan are a vast improvement over Destiny‘s explorable spaces.

Lost Sectors and Adventures are the new activities, with Public Events returning from the first game with a host of improvements. Unlike before, it’s now immediately obvious, regardless of which planet you happen to be visiting, when a Public Event is scheduled to begin in the open world, largely eliminating the guess work and luck required to participate in the sequel’s predecessor. Many are similar in structure – kill a boss, defend a point of importance from waves of enemies – but there are a few, and I won’t spoil it here, that’ll surprise you.

But I digress. Recommending you seek out Public Events is hardly a tip – you’ll do them of your own accord, no doubt – but the reasons for doing so certainly are. Due to level restrictions in place for certain story missions, rigidly sticking to it won’t be possible. At one point or another, you’ll be forced to accrue experience through other means. Public Events are short, fast and award generous chunks of XP for completing them, so if getting the campaign done and out of the way is your main priority, this will be the quickest way to achieve that goal.
