Tecmo Koei has announced that Team Ninja’s Dead or Alive 5 Plus will be available for U.S. Vita owners to purchase on March 19, 2013, narrowly beating the Japanese and U.K. launch dates (March 20th and 22nd respectively) that were announced earlier this week.
The Dead or Alive 5 Plus U.S. release date announcement was made via an update on the game’s official site, which unfortunately did not provide any new details for the upcoming fighter.
At this point, the only official information we have about the Vita port comes from a posting on Team Ninja’s facebook page last week. That short blurb revealed that Plus will include several enhancements over Dead of Alive 5, including; new training-focused modes, displays that show “advanced frame data” which reveals “twice the amount of information for each move”, optional touch controls, and a first-person mode that is activated by flipping the Vita vertically.
We are still waiting to find out if Dead or Alive 5 Plus will include any of the original game’s downloadable content, and so far we have yet to see a single screenshots or video footage of the fighter in action. With March 19, 2013 not that far away we are presuming that a full reveal of the game — which should answers all those questions, and allow us to get our eyeballs on the fighter — will happen soon rather than later.
As soon as Tecmo Koei or Team Ninja have anything further to announce on DOA 5 Plus we will let you know. In the meantime, hit up the comments section below to let us know what you think of all the announced features in the Vita port and make sure to throw out your ideas for what should be included in the game.
Personally, I think it would be great to see cross-play between DOA 5 on the PS3 and Dead or Alive 5 Plus on the Vita. That’s most likely a bit of a long shot, but it never hurts to ask.
