Capcom, Crytek, and Turn 10 have revealed more details about the exclusive content found in the Day One Editions of Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Forza Motorsport 5. If you’re not familiar with the term, Day One Editions are special game SKUs that include extra content for each game. They are only available through retail pre-order, while supplies last, or by download via Xbox Live for a limited time after launch.
Here’s what you can expect to find if you pick up any of the three aforementioned titles on day one.
Dead Rising 3 Day One Edition: Dead Rising Tribute Pack
- Frank West outfit with Frank’s Zombie Slugger weapon, extra gory attacks, a custom skill move and attribute perks for increased melee damage and tougher survivors.
- Chuck Greene outfit with Paddle Saw combo weapon and attribute perks for vehicle and weapon durability.
Ryse: Son Of Rome Day One Edition: Gladiator Mode Unlockables
- Legionnaire’s Trust Exclusive Sword – Forged in the Swiss Alps, the Legionnaire’s Trust is a well-crafted blade that provides players with bonus in-game attributes.
- Ruins – An exclusive Gladiator Mode Co-Op Map that places gladiators in an abandoned temple. Players will face off against hordes of barbarians in addition to having to deal with the arena changing and adding new obstacles throughout the match.
Forza Motorsport 5 Day One Car Pack
- 2010 Audi TT RS Coupe, the 2013 Ford Focus ST and the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera
- Each vehicle will come with exclusive Day One-themed livery and custom tuning package created by Turn 10.
As far as free DLC goes, the content here is surprisingly substantial. I am a fan of the Dead Rising franchise, so the Dead Rising 3 costume tributes are a more than welcome addition. The Ryse: Son Of Rome content is a nice bonus for those willing to take the plunge on a new IP at launch, although I’m not quite sold on the game yet. Considering the fact that I know absolutely nothing about cars, I have no comment on what’s included for Forza Motorsport 5.
While Microsoft has yet to reveal a specific launch date, expect Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son Of Rome, and Forza Motorsport 5 to launch with the Xbox One later sometime this November.
