The only thing more nightmarish than Dark Souls III‘s punishing difficulty is the fact that we still have three weeks to wait until the game is finally released in the West. Those lucky enough to live in Japan, however, get to collect souls, get whooped by bosses and explore the world of Lothric today, and From Software have celebrated the release in its home country with a spoilerific launch trailer.
Beware, if you’re trying your best to avoid any and all information on Dark Souls III in an effort to go in blind, you watch the trailer (above) at your own risk. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
Besides the usual focus on the High Wall Of Lothric area we’ve seen in numerous other clips, this one shows off several new, fantastic-looking vistas and enemies. Among them is an apocalyptic-looking, cloudy arena, a giant crab boss, and another of a bearded, hammer-wielding man as he swoops in to smash you in the face with it on the back of a monster of the avian variety. Surprisingly, it doesn’t appear to be a dragon.
April 12. That’s when Dark Souls III releases for the wider world on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and we can’t wait. Are you as pumped as we are? Of course you are. Let us know in the comments what you’re doing to occupy your mind while you count down the days.
