The big screen adaptation of Blizzard’s World of Warcraft MMO comes to Blu-ray and DVD on September 27, but it won’t just be the film you’ll be getting if you decide to nab yourself a copy on release day.
As per Universal Pictures’ announcement, select copies of the Warcraft movie will include various in-game bonuses for a few of Blizzard’s own titles when it goes on sale later this month, including a code for a digital copy of World of Warcraft. Of course, that doesn’t sound particularly special, given that anyone can, to a certain extent, play the fantasy MMO for free, but this particular string of letters and numbers will give full access to every single expansion released over the years with the exception of the recently released Legion, as well as 30 days of game time for the full game, should you decide to stay.
Of course, not everyone is a fervent World of Warcraft fan, so some other extras have been thrown in to sweeten the deal. Players of Blizzard’s CCG Hearthstone can look forward to bagging themselves a code for Medivh, the Guardian of Tirisfal and a hero skin that replaces the usual mage class representative Jaina Proudmoore.
Finally, if MOBAs are more your thing, a code for the evil warlock and antagonist of the film Gul’dan will also be included for Heroes of the Storm. The character is classed as an Assassin that utilizes dark fel magic to destroy his enemies.
Warcraft goes on sale from September 27 in North America and October 10 in the UK.
