It looks to be that Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is set to join an ever-growing list of software that launches head-first into connection issues.
Arriving today for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, early adopters are struggling to log on to the game’s server, with developer Zenimax Online acknowledging the technical hiccup and issuing a message to the MMO’s peeved fanbase.
“Hey everyone. If you have been experiencing login errors, we ask that you please try to log into the console megaservers again,” the latest update reads. “While we are continuing to work on resolving the issue, we have found that the issue has been fixed for some players at this point. We will continue to work on this until it’s resolved for all players, and we’ll provide an update when we can. Thank you again for your patience throughout the night.”
Players have already begun venting their frustration via The Elder Scrolls Online‘s official forums and NeoGAF, after finding they were unable to connect online shortly after the midnight launch. MMO’s and day-one issues are almost synonymous at this stage, though the fact that Tamriel Unlimited has been incubating in a beta phase for some time raises the question as to why Zenimax weren’t better prepared for the expected influx of players. A fix is understood to be imminent, but that won’t exactly appease those who had stayed up to play the console version the second it went live.
