If for whatever reason, you ever find yourself facing off against a team of Chinese Overwatch players, you may as well just retreat with your tail between your legs because chances are, they’ll be better than you. That’s what the current skill rankings for each country, revealed as part of Overwatch‘s World Cup, seems to suggest, at least. The competition’s second phase has begun, with voting now open for all to decide who should pick the teams for each respective country, of which 32 have made it through.
China has been assessed to have the highest average skill rating (based on the data of each country’s top 100 players), coming in at a total of 4550. Trailing just slightly behind is South Korea on 4522 with the United States in at third with 4470. Sweden and Finland round out the remaining top five, with the UK just missing out at sixth, having edged Canada by the smallest of gaps. Just a two-point difference stands between them.
Once voting ends on May 5, results will be tallied and each Committee member announced a few days after that. Group stages are due to kick off during summertime with playoffs following later in the year.
