Chad Goodmurphy’s 10 Best Video Games Of 2015

Like those before it, 2015 was a busy year for the gaming industry, as it continues to grow and incorporate new technologies. Nothing ever stays dormant or quiet in an industry such as this, and there were no shortages of things to talk about throughout this last calendar year, including technical blunders, public relations screw-ups and different controversies. What we'll remember most, though, are the games. After all, it's the games that we're all obsessed with, and the reason why this business exists.

What can I really say about The Witcher III: Wild Hunt that hasn’t been said before? It’s continually at the top of folks’ lists for game of the year, and has been since the early portion of 2015. The commendation is more than fair, though, because CD Projekt RED absolutely killed it with this sequel. It’s a masterpiece and an epic, and is something that every RPG fan needs to own.

With so much content on offer, along with a large-scale expansion having been released, not to mention another one coming, The Witcher III is something that will last you a long, long time. After all, it’s been clocked at over one hundred hours in length by completionists, and currently sits at an estimated 50 hours in length as far as its storyline goes. That’s a major undertaking, and something that is impossible to complain about when it comes to the whole cost versus content argument.

I must say that I’m glad that this game is doing so well in terms of sales and reception, because CD Projekt RED is a studio that I have a lot of respect for. They not only pour their heart and soul into each project, but they also openly care about their fans and customers, and don’t overcharge for additional content. In fact, much of this game’s DLC was given away free.

If there’s one title you can’t go wrong with this year, it’s The Witcher III: Wild Hunt.
