[Update] Shortly after pulling the Nuketown 2025 map, Treyarch has announced that they have reversed their decision. “Just launched a new fast-action playlist in the Bonus category called Chaos Moshpit. Back by popular demand: Nuketown 2025!”

Treyarch has just announced that the Call of Duty: Black Ops II pre-order bonus map, Nuketown 2025, has been pulled from normal rotation in the game’s multiplayer matches, and will now only be back for future “special events”.
David Vonderhaar, Black Ops II‘s Game Design Director, made the surprising announcement on his Twitter account, saying:
“Double XP weekend is official over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don’t kill the messenger. +”
“Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games.”
Vonderhaar added that the Nuketown 2025 map will “probably eventually” be added into the regular playlists, and Treyarch is currently “talking that over internally”.
As it stands now, the only way to play the Nuketown 2025 map is in a Custom Game, which is certainly not what most players expected when they pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops II specifically for the bonus multiplayer map.
We will update this post as soon as new information is announced.
