Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has managed to retain the top spot in the UK charts to claim the crown of Christmas No.1, beating out the likes of Battlefield 1 and FIFA 17 to do so. As recorded by the UKIE games charts and compiled by chart-tracker GfK, this year’s iteration of the series marks the seventh instance that the franchise has managed to achieve such a feat. The top three titles may remain unchanged, but the same can’t be said for the other seven games rounding out the top 10 list.
Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs 2 has risen two spots to fourth, while Rockstar’s eternally popular Grand Theft Auto V sees a huge rise from eleventh all the way up to fifth. Square Enix’s JRPG Final Fantasy XV sees a small drop from fourth to sixth, while winter sports title Steep rises from eighteenth to ninth place. Worryingly, Dead Rising 4 and The Last Guardian, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 exclusives respectively, have dropped out of the top ten completely, coming in at a disappointing 18th and 20th.

Whether or not the chart will see a drastic shake-up following Christmas week remains to be seen, but we imagine a series of post-holiday price cuts and sales could well lead to such a result.
