Bioware Founder Expects Mass Effect: Andromeda To Be “Incredible”

Despite having retired from Bioware in 2012, co-founder Greg Zeschuk is still admitting to be immensely excited about the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda. In an interview with Gamespot, Zeschuk talked at length about how much he's looking forward to playing the latest instalment in the sci-fi series.

What it’s apologizing for: Mass Effect is one of Bioware’s most popular franchises, but the third, and final chapter in the Shepard trilogy left a sour taste in the mouths of many drawn to the game’s expansive universe and impactful story choices. How it’ll do it: A fresh start in a whole new galaxy is certainly the fastest way one can ditch any baggage or bad feelings lingering from Mass Effect 3. There’s a pioneer spirit to the reveal trailer that gives the game its Andromeda subtitle, so the slate is looking to be as blank as one can get for a franchise this steeped in its own history.

Despite having retired from Bioware in 2012, co-founder Greg Zeschuk is still admitting to be immensely excited about the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda. In an interview with Gamespot, Zeschuk talked at length about how much he’s looking forward to playing the latest instalment in the sci-fi series.

Zeschuk spoke of his comfort with the direction that Bioware are taking the series with Mass Effect: Andromeda, and explained how confident he is that the finished product will be worthy of the standards set early in the franchise:

I think people can be pretty confident it’s in really good hands; a lot of the folks working on it are core, Mass Effect team people. I know there’s been concerns like, ‘They’re going to go strange directions’ or whatever. But I’m pretty confident that what they have planned is going to be pretty incredible.

The retired co-founder did go on to explain he had seen sneak peaks at the game’s early development, but that he hadn’t taken another look in “forever,” He then added, however, that he is extremely excited to play what he expects will be an “incredible” game as a consumer, joking that it’ll be nice to play “a Bioware game without knowing everything that’s going to happen.”

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be the first instalment in the post-Shepard era, and it is expected to release some time in early 2017.
